First ISS SSTV Decode

I wasn’t setup for the pass but was able to scramble to the radio and decode this image of Owen Garriott from RS0ISS on the International Space Station.
“Garriott, who died last April, pioneered the use of Amateur Radio from space. pioneered the use of Amateur Radio to make contacts from space. His ham radio activity ushered in the formal establishment of Amateur Radio in space, first as SAREX — the Shuttle Amateur Radio Experiment, and later as ARISS — Amateur Radio on the International Space Station.” – ARRL
I had some other noise in the room that impacted reception but considering the scramble, the source, and the fact that it was my first SSTV intercept I’m pretty pleased. I’ll be better prepared during the next pass.
